The 27th Hornbill Festival brings all 17 Naga tribes together at Kisama Heritage Village, about 12 km south of Kohima, for ten days of culture, music and food. Each tribe sets up its own morung — a traditional youth dormitory — around the main arena, where warrior dances, folk songs and cultural medleys run through the day. The programme spans the Naga Morungs exhibition, traditional arts and crafts, indigenous sports including Naga wrestling and traditional archery, food and herbal medicine stalls, flower shows and fashion shows. Evenings belong to live musical concerts, and Kohima town hosts the festival's night carnival. The festival opens on 1 December, Nagaland's Statehood Day.
