Kali Shalwar is a stage adaptation of Saadat Hasan Manto's story, set in Old Delhi in 1947, just after Partition. It follows Sultana, her pimp and lover Khudabaksh, the pickpocket Shankar and the dancer Mukhtar, around the black shalwar Sultana asks for ahead of Muharram. The play is performed in Hindustani at the Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts.
