Oedipus
Oedipus, a contemporary Hindi play by Pali Bhupinder Singh, explores the complex relationship between violence, hatred, memory and human desire. Set against an atmosphere shaped by communal conflict, it brings together a young man and a middle-aged woman in an intense encounter in which past and present collide — rather than retelling the Greek myth, the play uses the idea of the Oedipus complex to examine contemporary relationships and the psychological impact of violence.
