Shillong Literary Festival 2026
The sixth Shillong Literary Festival brings three days of conversations, readings, book launches and performances to the lakeside at Ward's Lake during cherry blossom season. Booker Prize winners Kiran Desai and Damon Galgut headline an edition that puts the storytelling and oral traditions of the Khasi, Jaintia and Garo communities in dialogue with national and international writing. The programme includes the new First Bloom initiative for emerging Northeast writers and evening grassroots music performances, with local food stalls around the lake. Supported by the Department of Tourism, Government of Meghalaya.
