CHICAGO
A universal tale of fame, fortune and notoriety: the longest-running American musical in Broadway history comes to The Grand Theatre at NMACC for its India debut. Set in the razzle-dazzle decadence of 1920s Chicago, the dark satire follows housewife and nightclub dancer Roxie Hart and vaudeville star Velma Kelly, both in Cook County Jail, and smooth-talking lawyer Billy Flynn, who turns Roxie's crime into a media sensation. Book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, with Fosse's iconic jazz choreography and songs including All That Jazz, Cell Block Tango and Roxie. Winner of six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards and a Grammy Award.
